Closing Excise Duty Ledger Entries from Excise Statement

When an excise duty statement is reported to the Customs authority, the corresponding excise duty ledger entries will be closed indicating that these entries have been reported as such. You can now close the excise duty ledger entries that are related to the preview of the excise statement. When you close the excise duty ledger entries from the preview mode, the required fields in the closing activity are taken over from the preview. In the preview mode, the following settings are possible, only the excise period must be taken over.

  1. On the Excise Statements Preview page, on the General FastTab, select/enter the below fields:
    • Excise Period: You must enter a value.
    • Customs Reference: It is optional
    • Date Filter: The start and end date of the Excise Period.
    • Status Filter: Always choose the value Open.
    • Period Filter: Always choose a value Before and Within the Period.
    • Location: When you select the Excise Period, the Location field is auto-filled and becomes non-editable.
  2. Enter the Customs Reference.


    It is possible that there is no Customs Reference Code available and you can add this Customs Reference after wards.

  3. On the action bar, choose Close Excise Periods.
    The Close Excise Data page opens.
  4. Turn off the Preview Mode toggle.
  5. Choose Preview & Close to close the excise duty ledger entries.


    You also can close the excise duty ledger entries from the Close Excise Data page.

  6. Go to the Excise Period page.
  7. Drill down No of Records to view all the excise duty ledger entries which are closed within the excise period.
