Set up general business posting group via reason code

To setup General Business Posting Group via Reason Code,

1. Select the Search icon , enter Item Journals, and then choose the related link.
   The Item Journals page opens.

2. In the item journal lines, select the dropdown in the Reason Code field and click Select from Full List.
   The Reason Codes page will open, displaying columns for Reason Code, Description, and Default Business Posting Group. When you select the required reason code on the Reason Codes page, the system will automatically populate the Gen. Bus. Posting Group field in the item journal lines with the predefined value from the Reason Codes List.

The reason code will update the Gen. Bus. Posting Group field only when the Positive Adjmt. or Negative Adjmt. is selected in the Entry Type field.

Alternatively, you can perform this by selecting the context menu in the Batch Name field. If the reason code with the default Gen. Bus. Posting Group is available for the chosen batch name, the system will automatically fill in the Reason Code and Gen. Bus. Posting Group fields in the item journal lines.
