Aptean Drop Shipment

When the Aptean Catch Weight extension is used in conjunction with the Aptean Drop Shipment, the weight-related data is synchronized between sales and purchase documents during the drop shipment process. The system supports accurate weight tracking using the same unit of measure across sales and purchase documents, as defined in the item setup.

Integration criteria

Ensure the following conditions are met.

• The catch weight setup is configured with the correct unit of measure for item tracking. The item has a price list configured with the same unit of measure.
• The drop shipment extension is installed and activated.

Processing drop shipments with catch weight

During posting, the system synchronizes item tracking lines, weight quantities, and document weight lines. If you post the purchase receipt, the corresponding weight data in the sales shipment is automatically updated to ensure alignment between documents.

• Posting the purchase receipt: The item tracking lines and document weight lines will be updated and synchronized with the purchase data. The system ensures that the weight quantities match between the purchase and sales documents.

• Posting from the sales shipment: The system updates the purchase receipt to reflect the same weight quantities. The system ensures that the document weight lines remain consistent across both the receipt and shipment.

Additionally, after posting, the item weight ledger entries are generated. These entries ensure that the weight-related data, such as weight quantities, is accurately recorded and consistent between the documents.
