Walkthrough: How to move items between different building in one location

Our plant, which operates out of multiple locations, consists of various buildings. A production unit is located in one of the spaces. To move a pallet to the shipping dock using standard ad hoc movement, each pallet's license plate number must be scanned. Then from the dock to the truck once more. When the truck is being unloaded from the destination building, we will scan those license plate numbers once more. To move all of those license plates to the appropriate bin in the warehouse, we will also need to scan them all again.

We must perform an additional 4000 scans every day if we are to do this for the 1000 pallets that we produce each day. which is an extra task, and we know which license plates we took from the production output after the initial scan. Therefore, all it would take to load the items from the dock into the truck would be a single scan. One scan could easily be used to place the truck's contents onto the receipt dock. We are aware of what was on the truck and shipping dock, so we also know what is on the receiving dock. Although the receipt dock's distribution throughout the warehouse may vary from the working method, this could also be resolved with ease by one scan.

This implies that depending on how you operate in the warehouse, you may be able to cut down on scanning to 1000 scans when you initially remove the pallets and perhaps 20 scans when you move them out of the building and store them in various bins.

For instance, we will use one scan to remove five pallets from the bin after scanning each license plate number.
